The Lagonda Piano Company was established about 1900 in New Castle, Indiana. Lagonda built a line of upright pianos, player pianos, and baby grands throughout the first quarter of the 20th Century. The firm was controlled and manufactured by The Jesse French Piano Company. The Lagonda name was marketed as an affordable alternative to the costlier “Jesse French” brand name. During the Great Depression, The Lagonda Piano Company discontinued their upright pianos and introduced a line of small spinet pianos and very small “apartment size” baby grand pianos to their product line. The Lagonda brand name was produced until the 1950s era.
