The Starting six digits ones, may have been the beginning Fullerton ones,not sure though. The serial number is 610386. I'm trying to sell this thing. I don't play the trumpet, it came into my possession years ago and I'm basically looking to get some spare change for a friend's birthday this weekend.

I know the trumpeters on this sub have often talked about the Olds Ambassador and praised it as an exceptional value for a vintage horn. I am thinking about getting one and I was wondering if there are preferred years or distinguishing features that I could search for among the many offerings on eBay? I'm also curious how it compares, broadly speaking, to the standard Bach Strad 37? I have a Strad but despite trying many copies of the Strad when I bought it to get the best feeling horn I could find, I feel like my trumpet is clearly inferior to my other horns... I have a Couesnon flugel from the 50s and a 60s King cornet which is nothing special on paper but plays like a dream compared to my trumpet. Maybe old instruments are just where it's at for me.
