Ps3 Game Saves Download

When you play a game on your PlayStation 3, your save data is stored locally. PlayStation Plus subscribers get the added benefit of storing their saves in the cloud. In both cases, your game saves are linked to your account. Most of the time that’s a non-issue. At other times, however, it’s a serious impediment not being able to use other people’s save games on your PlayStation 3. Luckily, there’s a way around that; a way to explore a friend’s save game (or one you found online) on your PS3.

Where To Find Save Games

When you're on the web and you're looking to browse videos, you go to...Read More. When you search for a game, you’ll find links to the save games in the search results.

Another place with a lot of save games is The Tech Game, although you have to sign up for an account before you’re able to download files. Finally, if neither of those pan out, you can always try Google.

How It Works

Your save games are associated with your console and user account. They are signed with a key from your PlayStation, like a certificate of identification. Because other save games are signed with a different key, your PlayStation won’t run them. We will extract your key from one of your own save games and use it to resign the save game you downloaded.

Basically, we will modify the downloaded save game so it looks like it came from your PlayStation 3 all along.

We’ll walk you through the process step by step. You’ll only have to configure the software once, but you’ll have to resign every downloaded save game individually. Don’t worry, once you get the hang of it, it takes but a minute.

0. Prerequisites

You’ll need access to:

  • A USB stick or USB hard drive. This doesn’t have to be a large one.
  • A Windows computer.
  • Your PlayStation 3 and the account you want to use the save games with.

Before we get started, first download:

  • [PS3] Save Resigner (Download)

Start with installing .NET Framework 4, then install [PS3] Save Resigner. This will run you through a few other installers, mostly Microsoft developer tools.

During the process, some 32 bit installer may fail if you’re on a 64 bit operating system. Don’t worry when you see the error pop up, [PS3] Save Resigner will launch the 64 bit installer right after.

1. Get One Of Your Own Save Games

We’ll need one of your own save games for this to work. Just pick a random one or, if you don’t have any save games on your console, create a new save game first. Pick a USB drive and follow our guide on backing up PS3 save gamesHow to Back Up and Import PS3 Game SavesHow to Back Up and Import PS3 Game SavesNeed to back up or import saved game data to your PS3? Here's every way to back up your PS3 saves to a local drive or the cloud.Read More.

If you plug the USB stick into your computer, you should see the folder structure USB stick > PS3 > SAVEDATA. In this folder, save games are grouped per game, each in a folder with the game code. This is the same code you’ll find on the side of the game’s case.

For now, copy the save game folder (in the example above, ‘BLES01614’) somewhere on your computer. Keep your USB drive plugged in, you’ll need it later.

2. Configure [PS3] Save Resigner

Open the [PS3] Save Resigner application you installed previously. Select Global Settings and verify that the public keys are already present like in the screenshot below.

If not, you’ll have to enter them manually. Press Save Keys when you’re done.

SySCON Manager key = D413B89663E1FE9F75143D3BB4565274

KeyGen key = 6B1ACEA246B745FD8F93763B920594CD53483B82

Game save PARAM.SFO key = 0C08000E090504040D010F000406020209060D03

Fallback disc hash key = D1C1E10B9C547E689B805DCD9710CE8D

Next, select Profiles. We’re going to use your original save game to create a template for resigning external save games. Enter a profile name and press Load From Param.SFO and browse to the original save game you transferred to your computer in step 1. In the save game folder, you’ll find a file called ‘Param.SFO’, containing your private keys.

After you’ve selected your original Param.SFO file, press Add New Profile. A new profile with your name should appear in the top portion of the screen. You can close the Profiles pop-up when you’re done.

3. Resign A Save Game

Still in [PS3] Save Resigner, select Open > Single Gamesave. (If the Open button is unresponsive, press the drop-down arrow at the right side of the button.) Browse to one of the save games you downloaded or leeched from a friend and select the save game folder.

Select Load From > Existing Profile and select the profile you created in step 2. Close the profile pop-up. The Account ID should now have changed into your profile’s account ID.

Check if the region code corresponds to the copy you have at home. You can find this region code on the side of the game case. If it’s different, type over your own code in the Region text field.

When you’re finished, select Save to Current USB Drive below. 3.b Fix Unsupported Game (Optional)

Some save games will throw an error when you load them into [PS3] Save Resigner. The application is missing some crucial data it needs to process the save game. If you don’t get this error, skip ahead to step 4.

We’ll use another application to figure out this missing data.

Download and install Aldos PS3 Tools. You’ll be asked to extract the tools to a folder. By default this creates a folder in your home directory.

After extracting, browse to the ps3tools folder and open tools > BruteforceSaveData > BruteforceSaveData.exe. You’ll be asked in a pop-up to configure your profile by loading data from an original Param.NFO file that’s included in one of your original saves, similar to the set-up in step 3.

In the top right corner, make sure to tick off the checkbox next to Use data alignment. Browse (…) to the folder containing the save game that threw an error. The game should show up in the main panel of the application.

Right-click on the title and select Bruteforce… The application will work its magic for a minute or two, after which it produces the game’s secure_file_id (the piece of information we were missing). This information will appear at the lower part of your screen, in the Update Account ID tab.

Copy the entire output; all four lines. Browse to the [PS3] Save Resigner folder (Documents > The Prince of Codes > [PS3] Save Resigner) and open the ‘games.conf’ file. You’ll find a lot of lines similar to the output you just copied. Simply paste it between two other games and close the file.

[PS3] Save Resigner now has the information it needs to finish the job. If you go back to step 3 of this guide right now, it should work like a charm.

  3. Ok - two things that were not made clear in the article (which was otherwise very well written).

1 - You have to hit 'resign' prior to hitting 'Save to USB' as others have mentioned.

2 - You have to identify the user ID and Console ID of your destination ps3 & copy those details into the new profile that you create. You do this by following the same process as laid out above, but with the destination ps3 FIRST. You save a new profile from the destination PS3 & then you follow the same process on the source PS3 but instread of building a profile, you just load the one you have already made (that was sourced from the destination PS3).

  4. thanks this method help me alot
i tried save unlocker and brute force save with no result before.

with this tool i can see account id from my new ps3, simply add the profile just like your guide, then open the save file from old ps3, load the profile to old ps3 save file.done

  5. this method and 2 other methods do not work for me. im trying to load the shadow of colossus 100% load (as im banging my head against a wall with the 3rd colossus in hard time attack). they just do not appear on my load screen on the playstation. what am i doing wrong?!?! help please!!

  6. Thank you a lot!!! I wonder why they put so many obstacles along.... I was playing Ratchet & Clank and I got stuck on the 3rd oading screen... Something might be wrong on my disc. Thanks to a 100% completed save file I've been able to skip the level.

For those trying to use the program: remember to click the magic button RESIGN before copying it to your USB drive (by the way, that didn't work, so I copied the resigned downloaded save file into my flashdrive manually).

  7. Good instructions! Just one tip regarding Step 3: You must click on 'Resign' before you select 'Save to Current USB Drive', otherwise the save game won't work.

  21. Simon ... i played a Dragon's Crown a lot with some friends of mine. Now i have a 99hours of playtime, and we made it all in local 4player ... but i played it in another user of my own ps3 and now i wan to pass it to my main user.

    Will this process work ?
Like if i use our data instead of the 'downloaded' data ? ...

  22. ..did everything you said above, but when I try to load my changed save game in the game (FallOut New Vegas) the game tells me: usb device is no longer available. What to do???

  23. Ok, I followed the steps successfully and the save works (as in the PS3 recognizes it and loads it), however when I try to load the save the game freezes immediately after.
    Suggestions?

  24. I tried this with mortal kombat but the game still detected that it wasnt my save

  25. hi Simon, i did everything you mentioned above and i can play the save game but i cant save any progress on to it, i also noticed that the saved game i download it still said the previous owners name. any recommendations ? i would really appreciated thanks

  26. Well I can't figure it out I did it step by step and it still won't allow me to save on skyrim

    • Annex, it works for me on Skyrim. Like Dave mentioned, Simon skipped part regarding hitting resign button at the end and before final save to USB disk:
try to hit the button resign before you do this step:
When you’re finished, select Save to Current USB Drive below. Just put it back on your PlayStation 3 and you’re ready to enjoy your new save games!

      Keep Fus-Ro-Dah :)

  27. I cant extract the AldosTools from the zip

    • ..me neither???

  28. Hi! I figured out that this turtorial has forgotten to mention that you should hit the button resign before you do this step:
When you’re finished, select Save to Current USB Drive below. Just put it back on your PlayStation 3 and you’re ready to enjoy your new save games!

This fixed my problem with ps3 saying that it is someone else saved game.

    • I'm gonna give this a try when I get home tonight. Thanks Dave!

  29. What about trophies? Will they automatically show up or how does that work??

  30. hi there
tried using this i was able to use the save game but when i try to load the game there is an error that i cant save a new game save because i am using a different account ID

  31. you can get trophies work with this.
    for some games it works.
i wonder if you get banned from psn since some of the timestamps on trophies are impossible.
or if theres 20 trophies with same minute, even trophies like 'hard finish' and 'easy finish'.
makes alarm bells to ring pretty fast.

  32. It doesn't work at all. It either tells you that you are using other's people data, the resigner freezes when you RESIGN it (something you forgot to put in your tutorial) or it never loads the savefile.

  33. Awesome write up, thank you
Can you please elaborate on something for me, the bit where you say 'Copy the entire output; all four lines. Browse to the [PS3] Save Resigner folder (Documents > The Prince of Codes > [PS3] Save Resigner) and open the ‘games.conf’ file. You’ll find a lot of lines similar to the output you just copied. Simply paste it between two other games and close the file.'
Where exactly do you paste the missing data that brute force crated? This path you provided is not clear to me.

    • its not letting me past anything at all

  34. I take that back, 4 failed but one did not. However, I was reading that some games don't seem to put that restriction on their game saves. And I already had Visual 2013 on my computer so I cancelled that.

  35. I ran this process on 5 games and each of them still said 'you are using another user save'... the only difference I experienced is that when I was doing the install, it told me the Microsoft Visual version I was running was newer than what it was trying to install. So I canceled though figuring newer was better.

  36. I am unable to 'bruteforce' the save. The program says it's unable to do it, due to the files being decrypted.

  37. I made all u said in the tutorial and my GTA IV imported save game looks normal on PS3 folder, but it just doesnt appear in tha game, it doesnt auto load and dont show up in load games in the game. What do I do?

  38. Update to my previous post. I retried the method and this time it didn't freeze but it shows invalid save on the game.

  39. I was able to successfully complete the procedure and copy the save to my PS3 but when I start the game, the game freezes on the logo of Ubisoft... Trying to use the save of Assassin's Creed III.

  40. I tried doing this because i lost my save of dead space 2 but when i try to load it it just wont appaer

  41. So I went through all the steps and I got the new saves on my ps3 but I cant get my ps3 to recognize that there are the saves on it. Either it will load my old save files or if I didnt have an old save for the game im trying to play it will treat it as though its a new game even though I have my downloaded save files on my ps3. Any ideas??

  42. While copying saves I have the message: file is corrupted; (8001051C)

  43. it says theres a virus on the aldos ps3 tool? why

  44. Every time mine says Pfd tool has stopped working and when I put it in the ps3 it's corrupted. Is that because I'm using a batman Arkam asylum save for my batman Arkam asylum goty game? It does it on gta 5 too nothing has worked yet its it the pfd tool? Is there somebody I can contact by phone somewhere for like some step by step support. Playstation support hand me delete five years of game saves during a call to them for a simple procedure and I can't get them back and only had some backed up so I really want to use this.

  45. when you put a profile name in the initial set up, is it the name of the original user or the new one?

  46. What if the ps3 tool cannot run because my MSVBVM50.DLL file is missing? I cannot seem to correct unsupported BLUS31211 error (for Final Fantasy X saved game from other console). It still won't let me save since it's from other people's saved games. Thanks!

Are there other programs that can change the saved file's original account user ID? I understand I won't be able to win trophies and stuff but I just want to be able to save my progress when I re-start from other people's saves. Thanks for all the help and the blog.

  47. Hey so I followed all the steps provided and I've successfully been able to copy the savefile to the ps3. However they all say that my savefile is corrupted. I tried this for Diablo 3 and it definitly detects the file but all the characters are corrupted and hence useless. Any solutions?

    • Hi,

You'll have to check a few things.
      - Did you load your keys from your own Param.nfo file? It needs to have come from the same account on the same PS3.
      - Is your games.conf file updated correctly?
      - Do you have the same game code (e.g. 'BLES01614'), check your physical disk?
      - Does your USB stick have the correct folder structure? Check step one. You'll need the same folder structure for PS3 -> PC and PC -> PS3. (*)

(*) e.g. If your game folder is called 'BLES01614-2' instead of 'BLES01614', it'll corrupt your saves.

  48. I needed something like this for some saves that I lost. When I accidentally turned off the power supply before the PS3 finished turning off, my saves were damaged and lost a lot of Batman Lego progress, all 'medals' on Heavenly Sword, my Ninja Gaiden saves :(
So this will be useful. Thanks!!
