2. Daffy Duck had shifting relationships with most of his fellow Looney Tunes characters. Daffy was shown as both friend, mentor, and rival to almost every other character depending on the situation.
3. Due to an unfortnate experience with a cable tv company, there is a rumor that Daffy is now masquerading as the crime fighting 'Fist of Goodness.'

Every Legend Has A Beginning....

Have you ever seen those old commercials that told you that you may have what it takes to be an artist? You can correspondance course your way into a successful career? Well, they send you things to draw. You draw them and send them back to be judged. It is all the same attempt at the same drawing, however there are slight and subtle interpretations of the drawing that set them apart. Each artist, no matter how subtlely, will project their own understanding of the source material. On a grand scale for the last scale, Daffy Duck has served as that drawing for cartoons. He is supposed to be the same chaeacter, but in the hands of each creator, Daffy more than any other character becomes their own.

Daffy first appeared in Porky's Duck Hunt which was directed by Tex Avery and animated by Bob Clampett. This was in April of 1937. The next year, the same set up was used for Daffy Duck and Egghead.Porky and Egghead was just Porky's Duck Hunt in color and Egghead was simply the proto-Elmer Fudd.

Daffy started out with a rather adversarial relationship with Porky Pig. Porky establishes their relationship early on in Proky's Duck Hunt by trying to straight up murder Daffy. The next collaboration did not go much better for their friend ship with What Price Porky.

Daffy would get the upper hand in The Daffy Doc. Daffy plays a quack Doctor who keeps trying to diagnose and treat Porky for fake ailments.

Porky is ultimately lucky to make it out alive even by cartoon standards.

Wise Quacks marked a turning point in the relationship between Porky and Daffy. Daffy is informed that his Mrs. Daffy is going to give birth to multiple hatchlings.

This inspires Daffy to go on a drinking binge to drown out his sorrows.

until a crazed eagle steals all of his chicks...

Daffy and Porky team up to save the chicks with the power of beer. The get the eagle and his family so drunk they no longer care what happens to the young chicks.

After this, Porky goes from being a worthy adversary to Daffy Duck to being a lovably funny sidekick.

Bugs and Daffy

Bugs Bunny also vacilates between being Daffy's friend and tormentor. In Daffy's most famous and critically acclaimed cartoon Duck Amuck, Bugs is revealed to be a sadistic God-like controller of Daffy's fate. Bugs seems malevolent for no other purpose than to just torture Daffy drawing him into incredibly ludicrous and cruel situations.

Even in the best of circumstances, Bugs and Daffy could probably be best described as 'frenemies.'

There were many cartoons which centered around Bugs actively getting Daffy shot by Elmer Fudd. This led to Daffy's immortal line 'Your despicable.....'

Daffy And Speedy Gonzales

Sppedy Gonzales seemed to knowingly play to every negative racial stereotype ever.

Thankfully, Daffy was willing to go right down to Mexico and put an end to all things Mexican once and for all.....

Daffy usually played a self appointed defender of some sort of rules to be enforced south of the border. While he usually lost, Daffy never seemed to lose his sense of authority.

The good news is that after several years of antagonism, Daffy and Speedy were able to become friends as well as occasionally fighting a common foe.

The only serious part.

In 1989, the legend of Daffy's voice and so many of he voices of the Looney Tunes Mel Blanc was lost.

This led to one of the most beautiful and moving tributes to anyone who passed in any medium.

Summaries

• Sing Song guard (Yosemite) Sam Shultz mistakes Bugs for a prisoner when he tunnels up inside the jail.

• Bugs Bunny escapes hunters by leaping into his rabbit hole and tunneling to safety. Unhappily he tunnels into the Sing Song prison where a sadistic prison guard named Sam Schultz refuses to accept that he's anything but one of the prisoners. Soon Bugs is in stripes, but it's the guard who will find prison life to be hell when Bugs Bunny is around to trick him into a cell, the hangman's noose, an electric chair and even into the warden's office, where Bugs will put a severe strain on the relationship between boss and underling. Finally, Sam decides that enough is enough.

• Bugs is fleeing from hunters; however, in his efforts to escape, he makes a big mistake: he tunnels his way into a prison, guarded by Sam Schulz (an incarnation of Yosemite Sam). Throughout the rest of the cartoon, Bugs tricks Shulz repeated ly by pulling switches. He tricks Sam into locking himself in a cell, switches uniforms with him, and impersonates the warden. Finally frustrated beyond endurance, Schulz kicks Bugs out, whereupon he is sentences to hard time for aiding in the escape. Before the iris out, Bugs confesses to being the stool pigeon who turned Schulz in.

• It's rabbit season, and Bugs is frantically fleeing from hunters who want to make hasenpfeffer out of him. He quickly hides in a hole, and makes it to Sing Song Prison ('No hanging around'). Upon exiting the hole, Bugs is mistaken for a prisoner by guard Sam Schultz (that is, Yosemite Sam). He is brutally beaten and forced to crack rocks with a hammer (under the prisoner number 3½).
  Bugs fools Sam into letting him escape by stuffing his leg iron into a cannon and being fired over the prison wall. Sam quickly retrieves Bugs, and throws him in a cell. Bugs convinces Sam that he's been locked outside the cell, and when the two switch places, Bugs locks Sam in the cell. Sam escapes and vows to give Bugs solitary confinement for 99 years. Bugs tells him, 'You wouldn't be so tough if you weren't wearing that uniform!' They both take their uniforms off and prepare to fight, but Bugs decides not to, deciding Sam really is tough without the uniform. Sam puts on the prisoner uniform, and Bugs puts on the guard uniform, leading to Sam being beaten by other guards and thrown in a cell.
  Sam yells to be let out, demanding a mouthpiece and 'habus corpeas'. Bugs slips by and gives Sam an escape kit disguised as a loaf of bread. Sam digs his way out of the cell, and emerges in a section of lush greenery. This turns out to be the prison warden's potted plant collection, and the warden berates Sam for his actions.
  Sam chases Bugs onto the gallows, where Bugs pushes a button and takes an elevator down the gallows. Sam tries the same, but he is hung from the rope. As he inaudibly swears while trapped in the rope, the warden screams for Sam to come to his office. The warden turns out to be Bugs in disguise, who offers Sam a cigar and tells him to sit down (in an electric chair). When Bugs goes to give Sam a light, he turns on the chair, electrocuting Sam. Bugs then blows his disguise when his fake mustache slips onto his cigar, and Sam chases him again. This chase culminates in Sam hitting the real warden over the head with a club. The warden yells at Sam again.
  Sam encounters Bugs, and orders him to get out of the prison. Bugs, after some hesitation, obliges and leaves. Sam is overjoyed to be rid of Bugs, but just then, the warden screams for Sam to come to his office again. A dejected Sam slinks away to the office, and soon becomes a prisoner, forced to break rocks. He thinks aloud, 'I'd like to know what dirty stool pigeon squealed on me.' At that moment, Bugs is seen on the prison wall, standing on a stool and cooing like a pigeon. Iris out.
