I'm just starting my voyage into Kayak fishing, and after purchasing a yak, PFD, gear, and anchor... I don't have enough cash for a trolley system.
I have a 3lb anchor attached to about 40ft of nylon rope I had lying around. No float, no carbiner clips, just some rope and a chunk of metal.

What is the safest way to deploy this anchor in shallow water, mostly along beaches/sandbars? Plan on heading to Satellite beach this Saturday and want to make sure I'm not doing something stupid.
